GILESTON MANOR SUMMER WEDDING | ELLA & OLIVER

A beautiful summers day in August 2023 brought me to the colourful wedding of Ella and
Oliver and one of my most favourite venues, Gileston
Manor.

Set in 9 acres of Welsh countryside on the Jurassic Coast, Gileston offers
the most perfect backdrop to any wedding and a photographers dream location.
The Manor itself is 5 Star luxury boutique and offers 6 stunning ceremony
backdrops including its own onsite 13th Century Church, perfect for
hosting your celebrations with a personal touch.

Ella and Oliver chose to get ready at the Manor’s Courtyard Apple Store and Stables
accommodation which led onto a stunning ceremony at the Secret Garden. A
confetti throw within the Walled Gardens led the walk down to the front lawn of
the Manor House where guests enjoyed drinks and canapes overlooking the
coastline and enjoying the August sunshine. It was here where we photographed
those all-important family and friends group shots which followed onto the
wedding breakfast and speeches in the marquee. I’m sure you can agree that Ella and Oliver’s choice of hot pink bridesmaid dresses and colourful florals complimented the garden backdrop perfectly!

In the peak of the summer season, warm days are drawn out into beautiful low-light
evenings and these can create perfect opportunities to break up your portrait
session. The nerve wracking parts of the day of the ceremony and speeches are
done, you can relax into photographs of just the two of you as well as reminisce
about the day that’s already gone so quickly (and yes it’s a cliché but the day
does goes so fast…soak up every moment!!). We used the lull of the evening
turn-around to take short walk back down to the front of the Manor lawns and
take advantage of the beautiful sunset Gileston has the perfect position of.

The evening kicked off with Tux Fizz, one of the best bands I’ve had the
pleasure of hearing multiple times. If you want a band that will make sure your
guests get up and dance, these are your guys! As you can tell from the evening
photographs, all the guests had the best time.
